Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium Tacoma + My Favorites
This 29-acre (12-ha) zoo is large enough to offer an array of animals yet small enough to let visitors get close to sharks ans snakes, wolves and walrus, eels and elephants. Daily animal presentations are featured. The zoo hours are as follows: from January to March, 9:30am to 4pm; from April to May, 9:30am to 5pm; from June to August, 9:30am to 6pm; in September, 9:30am to 5pm; and from October to December, 9:30am to 4pm. The zoo is closed on the third Friday in July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
