Tacoma Travel Guide
Welcome to Tacoma!
While sometimes overshadowed by nearby Seattle, Tacoma offers a vast collection of interesting sights and activities that are ideal for the whole family. Freighthouse Square Public Market, once a railway terminal, houses an array of arts, crafts, specialty shops and food outlets. Visitors can catch a glimpse of wildlife such as puffins, polar bears and walrus at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. The zoo is located in the 698-acre Port Defiance Park, which also boasts a marina and a public beach. A number of neighborhoods should be seen when in Tacoma, such as the Theater District, Antique Row, the Stadium District and the Dome District, which is centered around the Tacoma Dome. The city also boasts a large Museum District, which is home to the Washington State History Museum, the Tacoma Art Museum and the Museum of Glass: International Center for Contemporary Art.
